A beautiful Victorian Castle as the foot of Pikes Peak awaits you to browse it's several collections of amazingly preserved artifacts and museum exhibits. Victorian Easter Egg Hunt, Mother's Day High Tea, Emma Crawford's Victorian Wake, Victorian Christmas (Friday, Saturday and Sunday November 29, 30 and December 1, 2013). Also, Antique Equipment Exhibit. Oldest firefighting equipment in Colorado, trophy horn, call boxes, fire hydrant, muffin bell and more! Miramont Castle was constructed in 1895 as a private home for Father Jean Baptist Francolon, a French born Catholic priest. The castle features nine styles of architecture ranging from English Tudor to Byzantine and all crafted from locally quarried greenstone and yellow pine framing.
Today Miramont is a museum dedicated to preserving the Victorian heritage of Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak region. Miramont Castle Museum is conveniently located just off Ruxton Avenue between the Pikes Peak Cog Railway Depot and the historic downtown shopping district. Pets that are able to be carried are allowed to also be toted through the Miramont Castle Museum in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Pets are also allowed on leashes on the grounds of the Victorian Garden at the Castle (provided no evidence of the pet is left behind).
