Your 20-mile downhill adventure from the summit of the world's most famous mountain, Pikes Peak, will stay in your memories long after your vacation is over. The trip begins at Challenge Unlimited's office at 204 S. 24th Street, where participants will be greeted by our enthusiastic bike guides while will have them sign release forms, feed them breakfast, and fit them with helmets. You will be loaded up in our 15 passenger vans and head for the summit of Pikes Peak (14,115 feet). Once on the summit, the guides will give you detailed instructions on biking and riding safely. Off we go! As we descend down the mountain, we will pass through five different life zones, each zone having a different climate, different vegetation and wildlife. Keep you eyes open for eagles, deer, elk, Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep, black bears, marmots, and an occasional mountain lion. Your descent will take two and a half to three hours. The ride finishes at the world-famous Wines of Colorado where you will be served lunch.
