Easy Plan for Active Adventurers

TRAVEL PLANWATCH VIDEOGET MAPS AND DIRECTIONSTHINGS TO DO!

Active adventurers, spend less time planning and more time playing in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region!

Day One

Start the day early with a comfortable van ride to the summit of Pikes Peak, and then take "Pikes Peak by Bike" down the mountain, all coordinated by the professional biking company Challenge Unlimited. All equipment you could possibly need is provided!  Or choose their Cog Up, Bike Down option, where you will take the famous Cog Railroad to the summit and the bike down to the bottom.

In the afternoon, enjoy a horseback ride through the stunning red rock formations of the Garden of the Gods arranged through Academy Riding Stables.  The whole family will enjoy Colorado horseback riding, guided by real cowboys who will point out some of the interesting red rock formations of the Garden of the Gods Park including; the Sleeping Giant, Snakehead Rock, Kissing Camels and SiameseTwins. Whether you are an experienced horse back rider or just a beginner, Academy Riding Stables has a horse suited to your abilities with Colorado guided horse back riding in the Garden of the Gods Park. One and two hour horse back rides are available throughout the summer months and after Labor Day through May 24th you can enjoy a perimeter ride (approx. 3 hrs.) around the outer edges of this beautiful 1400 acre park. We also offer Colorado pony rides for kids ages 2-7 (15 minute-rides).

Day Two

A day-long whitewater raft trip awaits you in Canon City, Colorado with reservations made through either, Echo Canyon River Expedition. Special arrangements can be made to extend your rafting or float trip to up to three days.

Day Three

Put your balance skills to the ULTIMATE test on the newest features at Cave of the Winds, the Windwalker Challenge Course and Zip Line ride.  If you ever wished you could "walk or fly through air" then these two new attractions at the Cave of the Winds are for you!  Located on the rim of a 600-foot drop into Williams Canyon, the Windwalker Challenge Course is for thrill-seekers of all ages who can navigate a challenging maze of steel beams, swinging ropes and ladders, wearing a specially designed harness. Safe & fun for the whole family.

An alternative to day three, or perhaps a day 4 would be a day spent at the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, where you can also experience another zipline ride, the Soaring Eagle Zip Line.  Experience one of the world's highest suspension bridges along with many other attractions at this world-famous park.
