5 day Family adventure
FAMILY ADVENTURE, HERE WE COME!
With today’s busy schedules and the distraction of the shiny screens, it can be really hard to get the whole family together and connected. Time with your kids seems to be flying by, and they’ll be moving out before you know it. Now’s your chance to bond and build memories you’ll all carry with you the rest of your lives. We’re here to help you find those once in a lifetime experiences, and if a few of them aren’t cellphone friendly, well all the better! Welcome to your perfect family adventure
START THE DAY OFF RIGHT
Welcome to Colorado! Start your vacation with one of most locally sourced restaurants in the region at Adam’s Mountain Cafe. Proponents of the slow food movement, AMC’s food is fresh, local and intentional. We recommend the Huevos Rancheros.
MANITOU CLIFF DWELLINGS
Get hands-on with history
It’s one thing to read about ancient Pueblo Indians in a book, but climbing through rooms whose walls were made from stone quarried 700 years ago is a completely different level of understanding. Originally moved from a site in southwest Colorado in 1904, the Manitou Cliff Dwellings make these 700 year old homes accessible, educational, and FUN! You and the kids can climb through history, imagine tribal life, scale wooden ladders, and even try grinding corn. It’s so much fun, the kids won’t even realize how much they’ve learned. Once you’ve had a chance to get your hands dirty, head inside their pueblo building to check out two great museums, one built directly into the rock face. Their gift shop offers all sorts of great souvenirs from toys for the kids, to handmade jewelry for mom. Everybody will be grinning big after this adventure.
Follow Manitou Cliff Dwellings Facebook page for Colorado Wolf Adventure events.
Cave of the Winds Mountain Park
Something for everyone
One of the trickiest parts of family vacations is trying to find something that will make everyone happy. Cave of the Winds has you covered — from the littlest in your tribe to your bravest cliff jumper. Start your visit with a cave tour, the Discovery Tour is perfect for most families, the Lantern Tour is a bit more daring and best for kids six and older, and the Caving 101 takes things to a whole new level adventure-wise. When you’re back topside, you’ll find everything from mild-mannered gemstone panning (just like the miners used to pan for gold!) to adrenaline pumping 100 mile an hour rides and lots of stops in between. Try the Magic Lantern Virtual Realty Theatre, climb the walls — the cliff walls with the Via Ferrata, zip through the canyon on the Bat-a-Pult, test your balance on the Wind Walker ropes course, dive into the canyon at 100 mph on the TERROR-dactyl, and test your nerve at Geronimos Leap. Be sure to check out their adventure packages to keep you and your crew playing all day long!

Grab a bite at the Trading Post in their Balanced Rock Cafe and enjoy one of the best patios in all of the Pikes Peak region. The backyard at the Trading Post has shade, a pond, lots of fun antiques but most importantly, it has room for the kids to run while mom and dad kick up their feet and enjoy a break.
Garden of the Gods Trading Post

Family vacation just isn’t complete without souvenirs to remember your trip. The Garden of the Gods Trading Post has been helping with those memories for over 100 years now. Located at the Southwest corner of the Garden of the Gods, with over 25,000 square feet, and nearly 90,000 different items to choose from, you can literally make the whole family happy. How often does that happen? From toys, mugs, hoodies and t-shirts, to handmade jewelry and local artwork, the Trading Post has it all. They’ve also been around for ages so their prices are second to none! Stop by the Balanced Rock Cafe for lunch or enjoy a Starbucks coffee from the Kissing Camels Coffee Corner.
