Are you wondering where you can go to refuel during a day spent playing at Cave of the Winds Mountain Park? With two different restaurants located in the park, you won’t have to look far. Here’s what to expect when you pay a visit to the Canyon Rim Grill or Prospector’s Point Grill.

Prospector’s Point Grill Near Via Ferrata and the Gear Shop

Cave of the Winds is more than just a tour in one of the coolest caves in the Pikes Peak region. It’s also a park packed with cool, hands-on activities that get the adrenaline pumping — and turn up your hunger. So, where do you go after you’ve just scaled the canyon on a Via Ferrata excursion? The Prospector’s Point Grill, conveniently located right next to the rally point for your rock climbing adventure and the park’s Gear Shop.

Prospector’s Point is a perfect stop for quick grab-and-go meals like sandwiches, chips, breakfast burritos and hot dogs. They also have beer on tap, plus domestic favorites and local canned beers and cocktails. There are plenty of places to relax around the outdoor patio, including covered picnic tables and comfy Adirondack chairs. The view is also excellent, with Pikes Peak peeking just over the tree-covered foothills that surround the park.

Is your appetite bigger than a simple sandwich or hot dog can satisfy? Maybe you’ve beat the Wind Walker Challenge Course and taken on the Via Ferrata and you need more fuel for your candlelight cave tour. Maybe all the altitude has you hungry every minute. Whatever the reason, the Canyon Rim Grill has a meal for you!

Canyon Rim Grill

With a park as busy and active as Cave of the Winds, you need meals that will fill you up and give you the energy you need for your next Colorado adventure. The Canyon Rim Grill cooks up classic American favorites, like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders and grilled cheese sandwiches, with the option to add sides like chips and waffle fries to make it a combo. You can also upgrade your sides for an additional fee and enjoy pretzel bites or fried pickles, or select from two different soups. The chicken poblano soup is definitely a great option paired with a grilled cheese — a little twist on the more expected tomato soup and a tasty one at that.

Other menu highlights from the Canyon Rim Grill include the brisket sausage, which is exactly as tasty and rich as you would expect for a meat that combines two of the best types of meat into one handy meal. The Philly cheesesteak also has quite a few fans! If you’re not up for a meal, the grill also has a la carte items like breakfast burritos, cheese fries and potato nachos. Like the Prospector Grill, you’ll also be able to grab cold beers, wine, seltzers, soda and hot beverages to slake your thirst, as well as assorted candy and snack items.

The Canyon Rim Grill is located near the gift shop in a sweeping dining hall overlooking the canyon and surrounding hills. It is a truly impressive space and there are lots of spots where you can get some absolutely incredible photos. Even if you’re not hungry, do yourself a favor and check out the deck and feast on the views.
