A Treasure Hunt Like No Other
Step inside and let your eyes adjust to the sheer scale of it—more than 25,000 square feet of treasures waiting to be discovered. Wander through aisle after aisle stacked with over 90,000 unique items: souvenirs you won’t find anywhere else, gifts that feel just right, keepsakes worth holding onto. And with prices that won’t empty your wallet, you can browse without holding back.
Savor Every Bite
Follow the scent of fresh-popped popcorn and sizzling burgers to the Balanced Rock Café. Sink your teeth into a juicy buffalo cheeseburger, crispy golden chicken fingers, or a quarter-pound hot dog piled high with your favorite toppings. Craving something sweet? Creamy scoops from Colorado City Creamery and rich, house-made fudge in flavors that melt on your tongue await. Vegan options keep everyone at the table happy. And whether you need a warm latte to shake off a winter chill or an icy Frappuccino on a summer afternoon, Starbucks coffee is always brewing.
Artistry Rooted in History
For nearly a century, the Trading Post has been the Pikes Peak region’s destination for Native American artistry. Run your fingers over turquoise and silver jewelry, admire the intricate patterns of hand-woven textiles, and marvel at pottery shaped by generations of tradition. Founded in 1929 by Charles E. Strausenback, this space once welcomed legendary artists like Awa Tsireh—whose brushstrokes still grace the murals on the walls today.
Unwind with a View
Grab a seat on one of Colorado’s finest patios, where red rock formations rise against blue sky. Linger over lunch, flip through a good book, or breathe in the mountain air while sunshine warms your shoulders. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget you have anywhere else to be.
More Than a Store—An Experience
The Garden of the Gods Trading Post isn’t just a stop on your itinerary. It’s a place to explore, taste, discover, and relax—an experience you’ll find yourself craving long after you leave.

What we love (and you will too)

Your Local Guide, PK McPherson
Third-generation Colorado Springs native and mom, sharing the secrets that turn good trips into unforgettable adventures.
The Trading Post is extra special to me for many reasons but as someone who doesn't love to shop, the first is how peaceful and homey it feels. The original wood floors creak in spots, there are familiar faces behind the counters that have been there for decades (some for generations!) When they smile and ask if they can help, they really mean it because this place is special to them too. Couple that with an absolutely unbelievable selection of everything from souvenirs to local art and this is my first stop any time I need a gift or someplace to sooth my soul!
Shockingly Big!
I compare this place to Hermione's handbag (only Harry Potter fans will get this reference.) It seems like a modestly sized shop from the outside but the place goes on and on. What's more, there are trinkets affordable on a school-age allowance, clear up to handmade Native American art. They've got something special for every person, and every budget.
