Pikes Peak Region Events

Join us throughout April at 4 different locations, to celebrate National Poetry Month with art and sharing of the written word/poetry.

This exhibit collaborates artists, poets, authors, musicians and venues, and at each venue reception is a live poetry/open mic.

Please join us at each reception and share your beautiful written word.

Homeschool families are invited to enter through the Admission Hut.

Tours are self-guided to the educational historic sites.

This School Program will cover the historic sites:

1860s Homestead Cabin
1880s Farm and Garden
19th Century Blacksmith Shop
General Store is open for purchases! Old-fashioned sodas, candies, and Ranch-made goodies!

Here are a few tips to plan your Home School Program:

Dress for the weather! Most of this program is outside with limited indoor space.

Parent/guardian chaperones are required during the program.

Our staff and volunteers are here to facilitate learning.

Teachers/parent chaperones handle student behavior and model proper field trip etiquette.

Picnic lunches are welcome.

Picnic tables are available South of the Orchard House or by the pond.

Trash and recycling receptacles are provided.

Program held weather permitted.

Classes are available for children aged 6 and up, teens, and adults at Front Range Fencing Club.

Students need only wear gym pants, gym shoes, and a T-shirt.

Note that class size is limited and usually fills early.

Intermediate and advanced on-going classes and competitive lessons are offered.

Presented by the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale.

Westside Community Center is excited to open our multipurpose room for homeschoolers to join together for fun and socialization!

Please bring play equipment to share.

WCC will not be providing equipment.

No payment required

All ages welcome

The Dragonfly Competitive team consisted of 8 brand new members and 5 returning, resulting in several first place awards and a third place "all around" (Michael Prestgard, sponsorred by Vvolfy metal works)! (With approx. 400 competitors, that's not too shabby!)

The Colorado Springs School 2024 Spring Musical presents "Starmites" At the Louisa Performing Arts Center.

A musical based on a shy teenager, Eleanor, exploring a fantasy involving science fiction characters in her comic book collection.

She escapes into this fantasy world where the Starmites are the guardian angels of Innerspace.

Starmites was nominated as BEST BROADWAY MUSICAL in 1989 and will continue to transport our community to space!

Monster Jam drivers are trained, world-class male and female athletes who have mastered not only the physical strength and mental stamina needed to compete, but the vital dexterity to control 12,000-pound machines capable of doing backflips, vertical two-wheel skills and racing at speeds up to 70 miles-per-hour to produce jaw-dropping, live motorsports action seen around the world.

As Big As It Gets!™

GameCon is a tabletop gaming convention for students in grades 6 - 12 in the Pikes Peak region.

Students will play a wide variety of games, including card games, board games, roleplaying games, and miniature war games.

There will also be vendors, authors, artists, etc. D20 GameCon is a non-profit organziation run by current and retired educators in the Pikes Peak Region.

Concrete Couch bought Concrete Coyote 5 Years ago in April 2019.

For the past 5 years we have hosted over 2500 free programs and events at the property and this former 7-acre industrial waste site has been transformed into a 7-acre community park.

Concrete Couch wants to celebrate all the hard work community members and volunteers have done at Concrete Coyote by hosting a celebration.

Concrete Couch will be offering some fun, free community service activities.

Come out to Concrete Coyote to help build a trail, create an art project, help restore the environment and more.

At Noon the party begins.

We'll have:

• Free food
• Music from Concrete Couch's Jam Band
• Speeches from some community members
• And more!

A maker is someone who creates – to be innovative, to solve problems, to bring something beautiful into the world, or simply to have fun.

They have an idea, and they bring it to life.

Making can encompass just about anything, from high tech to low tech to no tech, from art to fabrication to artistic fabrication, from needles to table saws to software.
