Bats & Balsa: Paint Your Own Ornament
Presented by Wild Birds Unlimited at Wild Birds Unlimited Colorado Springs, CO
Join us after hours for a fun afternoon of painting, bats, and creativity! Each participant will receive a fair-trade balsa-wood bat ornament to paint and take home. We’ll also share a few fascinating facts about Colorado’s bats and some simple ways we can help these important nighttime neighbors. The event is free but space is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register at https://www.eventcreate.com/e/bat-ornament Children must attend with an adult, but artists of all ages are welcome! Paint can be messy, so please dress accordingly. *This is the first of three ornament-painting events we’ll be hosting this season. Join us for all three and create a complete collection, or simply come paint one very cute bat! Our other events will be held Sunday, November 15th and Sunday, December 13th. Intersections of Arts, Music, Culture + Commerce: A Panel Discussion

Join the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber Foundation and the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPR) for an engaging evening exploring how arts, music, and culture strengthen communities, inspire creativity, and enrich the quality of life throughout the Pikes Peak Region. This interactive forum brings together business leaders, artists, musicians, philanthropists, and community organizations to discuss the importance of investing in the arts, celebrating Hispanic cultural heritage, and building meaningful partnerships that create a more vibrant Colorado Springs. Together, the panelists bring perspectives spanning regional cultural infrastructure, visual art and civic identity, private investment in arts and entertainment, music and creative entrepreneurship, and Hispanic and Chicano heritage and representation. The program will include a moderated panel discussion, audience questions, and a lightning round asking each panelist to identify one action everyone in the room can take during the next year to strengthen arts, music, and culture in Colorado Springs. 'Voices of a New World'

A world premiere rooted in Colorado Springs history. Join Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble for "Voices of a New World," commemorating Colorado’s 150th anniversary and America’s 250th through music inspired by American stories, voices and landscapes. The program features the world premiere of "As Starlight Erupts" by Kile Smith, commissioned by CVAE with text from "Tesla’s Walk" by Colorado Springs author and CVAE founding member Jimmy Sena. Also featured is "The Dawn’s Early Light" for choir, guitar quartet and cello. About Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble: Colorado Vocal Arts Ensemble (CVAE) was founded in 1992. Under the direction of Deborah Jenkins Teske, the Ensemble has garnered praise for “flawless sound” and “courageous programming.” Now in its 4th decade of steadfast commitment to artistic excellence and community involvement, CVAE believes that art thrives where it is planted. Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival

Now in its 39th year, the Rocky Mountain Women's Film Festival is the longest-running women's film festival in North America. Each October, filmmakers and audiences gather in Colorado Springs for screenings, post-film conversations, and filmmaker forums that spark dialogue long after the credits roll. Every festival-goer fests differently — some dive in headfirst and catch as many films as the schedule allows, while others prefer to dip in and out and mix in other weekend activities. ACCESS Christian Church invites the community to a free Special Needs Community Resource Fair and Open House on October 17 from 1:00–4:00 PM at the CORE Community Center in Peyton, Colorado. This family-friendly event is designed to connect individuals with disabilities, children with special needs, their families, and caregivers with local organizations, services, and resources in a welcoming and inclusive environment. A special feature of the event will be a book signing with local author Claudia Paulk for her children’s book, Inside Their Colorful Mind. The book focuses on children with autism and the unique ways they experience, understand, and interact with the world around them. Join The Carl Edward Foundation on for a family-friendly adaptive sports showcase featuring the Denver Barbarians Wheelchair Rugby Club, local wheelchair basketball representatives, and members of the U.S. Paralympic cycling team.
