Gap the Gorge

During Gap the Gorge, guests can watch professional highline demonstrations, meet the athletes, and learn more about the sport of slacklining in one of the most dramatic settings imaginable. The event also features a hands-on slackline park where visitors can test their own balance skills, athlete meet-and-greets, poster and shirt signings, and a special Gap the Gorge Bingo Challenge with prizes and giveaways. Last seen on the Butte stage in 2021, “Under the Colorado Moon” tells the story of gentleman Brett Armstrong. In financial distress after a lost wager and falsely accused of forgery, Brett must fake his own death and flee for a new life in the rough and tumble mountain town of Cripple Creek, CO. He assumes a new identity and joins a team of hard rock miners who toil under the thumb of Roy Shatterly, a man as cruel as he is rich. All is well until Armstrong falls for a beautiful and spirited mule skinner who has also caught Shatterly’s eye. Now, Armstrong must either deny his love or risk his freedom...and quite possibly his life! Sunnyside Cemetery Tours

Guided walking tours of the Sunnyside Cemetery near Victor, sponsored by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, will be held June 6 through Sept. 19 - the first Saturdays of each month at 10 am and third Saturdays of each month at 1 pm, weather allowing. Local historians Alicia Petri Harrington and Veldean Myers will be conducting the tours, sharing histories of families who pioneered the gold rush day, telling stories of resilient women, brave men, grave robbers, and unusual characters.
