Presented by Pikes Peak - America's Mountain at Pikes Peak - America's Mountain Cascade, CO
Advance purchase is required. Each vehicle must have a timed-entry permit and Sunrise admission ticket purchased online before arrival. Tickets will not be sold at the Gateway, and access to the North Slope Recreation Area will not be available during event hours. Prefer to leave the driving to us? Shuttle tickets are available! The Pikes Peak Gateway will open early for special sunrise events, so please take note of your arrival time when purchasing tickets. Before you go, please prepare for the mountain drive and summit conditions: • Avoid using air conditioning on the way up. • Know how to downshift and use engine braking on the way down. • Drink plenty of water before and during your visit. • Bring warm layers. The summit is usually about 30 degrees colder than in town and can be especially cold before sunrise. The Summit Visitor Center café and gift shop will be open for food and souvenirs. Whispers of the Herd - 5-Day Women's Retreat
Presented by Mustang Wisdom at The Copper Lodge Florissant, CO
Whispers of the Herd is designed for depth, reflection, and embodied presence. Held in the mountains near Pikes Peak, the retreat brings together small-group work with rescued mustangs, mindfulness-based experiential practices, and time on the land. Participants spend mornings in guided equine sessions exploring presence, boundaries, attention, and relational awareness through ground-based interaction with the herd. Afternoons offer space for integration through movement, sensory immersion, and creative reflection. Experiences may include guided meditation, gentle mat Pilates, a mustang-guided sensory immersion hike, mandala work, artisan studios, and time for rest or journaling. Evenings are intentionally quiet, with optional circles for reflection and integration. Participants stay in private or shared cabins at Copper Lodge, surrounded by mountain land and trails. Meals are catered from local restaurants, and retreat programming includes all equine sessions, movement practices, and creative studio materials. No horse experience is required. Activities are adaptable and participation is always optional. Group size is intentionally limited to support meaningful engagement and depth of experience. Opera Bus Pre-Event: 'What’s All the Singing About?'
Presented by KCME 88.7 FM at KCME Studio Colorado Springs, CO
Once infamously described as "an exotic and irrational entertainment," what we know as opera was originally conceived as a union of several arts: poetry, music, acting, stagecraft, and dance. Four hundred years later, is opera still relevant? Why does it persist? As Robert Benchley once remarked, "Opera is where a guy gets stabbed in the back, and instead of dying, he sings." So let's explore what the singing is about and what it's been like throughout the history of this unique art form.
