Curious George: 'The Golden Meatball'

Second Stage Music by John Kavanaugh | Book and Lyrics by Jeremy Desmon George had been waiting all month for All-You-Can-Eat Meatball Day, a day almost bigger than his birthday! But this year, the hungry crowd had vanished! Something was keeping people away… something pretty big. And that something was Phinneas T. Lightspeed and his speedy Meatballs-o-Matic machine. In despair, George’s friend Chef Pisghetti vows to cook no more. Determined to help him, George goes on a mission to enter the Chef’s meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest in Rome. Everyone’s favorite mischievous monkey and his friend in the yellow hat sing and dance up a storm in this adventure-filled musical. Curious George is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). Handball Futures Festival
Presented by Handball Futures at Fountain Valley School - Penrose Athletic Center Colorado Springs, CO
Handball Futures brings a multi-day celebration of women's Team Handball to Colorado Springs with the Handball Futures Festival. The event showcases 48 selected female athletes competing across four regional teams — East, North, West, and South — as part of Handball Futures' mission to identify and develop the next generation of Team Handball talent. The festival is rooted in the tradition of the original Olympic Festival, which was founded to introduce new athletes to the sport and connect emerging competitors with the champions who paved the way. This event honors that legacy by bringing Colorado Springs — home of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee — back to the center of American Team Handball. Opening Day (Wednesday, July 22) kicks off with Opening Ceremonies and the start of competitive match play. Round-robin play continues Thursday and Friday, July 23–24, before the festival concludes Saturday, July 25 with the Bronze Medal Match, Championship Medal Match, and Awards Ceremony. The festival is presented with support from the USATH Foundation and connects to Colorado Springs' identity as Olympic City USA. Sanctioned by USA Team Handball Opening Day Schedule – Opening Ceremony — 1pm – Matches — 2:00PM & 4:00PM – “Try-It” Clinic for local youth — Begins at 3:45PM between the matches and an Olympian autograph signing. Jazz in the Garden Presents Jeremy Facknitz Band

Jeremy Facknitz has been delighting audiences with his unique brand of high-energy theatrical folk-rock-jazz for nearly 30 years. His band "THE OTTOMANS" topped Hall of Fame rockers "THE WHITE STRIPES" for Best New Alternative Band at the Detroit Music Awards in 2001. Jeremy is a three-time finalist in the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival new folk songwriting competition [Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle and Nanci Griffith are each two-time finalists] and he has successfully made performing his "day-job" for over a decade touring Canada. the U.S., and soon the U.K. and beyond. The Jazz in the Garden 2026 season begins on May 29 at 7pm in the garden at the corner of N. Tejon and Monument Streets., just blocks north of downtown, and continues on alternate Fridays through August 21. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs and blankets, and get ready to spend your evening with the best music to be found in the city–new, old, tried and true you don't want to miss a single one!
