Oklahoma City Ballet

Founded in 1972, Oklahoma City Ballet is the city’s professional ballet company and a leading cultural institution in the region. As the resident dance company of the Civic Center Music Hall, Oklahoma City Ballet presents four main-stage productions each season in Oklahoma City, while also touring throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states to bring the power of live dance to broader audiences. Originally established as the Oklahoma City Civic Ballet, the Company was founded under the artistic direction of Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo artists Yvonne Chouteau and Miguel Terekhov. Today, Oklahoma City Ballet continues that legacy of artistic excellence with a roster of 27 professional dancers and 39 Studio Company dancers representing talent from around the world. Meadow Nature Walk
Presented by Cheyenne Mountain State Park at Cheyenne Mountain State Park Colorado Springs, CO
The meadow nature walk is a relatively short guided nature walk through some of our park’s pristine natural environments. Learn about the ecology of meadows and open spaces with park naturalist Sam Owens. The walk takes place in Cheyenne Mountain State Park, starting at the Prairie Falcon Amphitheater parking at 10:00 am at select dates in July. Reservations are available on CPW connect, but walk-ins are allowed. No fee is needed for the walk, but the entry fee to the park is still required. Walk will commence rain or shine, so participants are advised to come prepared for weather and trail conditions. Appropriate footwear and clothing is needed, as the trail is not paved. Audience: All are welcome, however, please keep in mind individual skill level and challenge of an hour long moderate hike. Dogs not permitted Fee: Park entry fee required Time duration: 1-2 hours maximum, although under an hour is possible based on walk dynamics. The delightfully campy show revels in nostalgia for Hollywood musicals of the '30s. Sweet little Ruby from faraway Hometown, U.S.A. has come to the big city make her mark on Broadway. Who should she chance to meet but another boy from Hometown, U.S.A.: Dick, a sailor, who also has ambitions as a songwriter. Ruby begins in the chorus, and by the end of the day, in true Hollywood fashion, Dick saves her doomed Broadway show with a smash tune and Ruby becomes a star on the deck of a battleship, which just happens to be passing by.
