The 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia: Colorado's Introduction to the World

Celebrate our 150th anniversary at the McAllister House. Executive Director of the McAllister House Museum, Eric Metzger, will talk on the the Centennial Exposition of 1876 and the reasons why the Expo was so significant to the state of Colorado. This presentation is part of the McAllister House Museum's Regional History Lecture Series. This presentation will be held in person in the carriage house located behind the McAllister House. Following the talk we will have a reception with light refreshment to honor the anniversay of our state. 2026 USA Weightlifting National Championships

USA Weightlifting’s premier event, the 2026 National Championships Week, returns to Colorado Springs from Saturday, June 20, through Sunday, June 28, at Ed Robson Arena. The nine-day competition will feature the Senior, Junior, U25, and Youth National Championships, bringing together more than 1,500 athletes from across the country. Fans will have the opportunity to watch many of the nation’s top weightlifters compete for national titles, including Olympic gold medalist Olivia Reeves and rising Team USA standout Kolbi Ferguson. The event also serves as an important stepping stone for athletes pursuing opportunities on the international stage and working toward the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. As one of the largest weightlifting events in the country, the National Championships highlights the continued growth of the sport in the United States and celebrates the strength of Team USA following recent international success, including the USA Women’s Team earning the team title at the 2025 World Championships. Sunnyside Cemetery Tours

Guided walking tours of the Sunnyside Cemetery near Victor, sponsored by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, will be held June 6 through Sept. 19 - the first Saturdays of each month at 10 am and third Saturdays of each month at 1 pm, weather allowing.
