Bat Watch
Presented by City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services at Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site Colorado Springs, CO
Eco-locators will be provided to hear bat calls as we watch them hunt and navigate the night sky. Meet at the admission hut for Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Walking is along a flat, mostly paved even surface with a total distance less than ½ mile. Dress for the evening weather. Parking available at parking lot #1 and at Rock Ledge Ranch. No Refunds. Pets are NOT PERMITTED at this program. Weather Dependent. Please provide phone number in case of rain cancellation. This beloved community tradition brings thousands of locals and visitors downtown for a lively celebration of the cowboy spirit and Western heritage that helped shape Colorado Springs. As part of the America 250 | Colorado 150 commemorations, the event honors the region’s rich ranching history and the frontier traditions that remain an important part of the community’s identity. Bring the whole family and soak up the festive atmosphere with live entertainment from Exit West and the Flying W Wranglers. Kids will love the hands-on activities including steer roping, a Western dress-up contest, the Kid’s Corral with a variety of activities and a petting zoo. CC Summer Music Festival: Children's Orchestra Concert

The classic children's tale is performed by the Festival Orchestra, along with celebrated mime Bill Bowers and narrator Virginia Barron, and accompanied by Bemis student artwork. Hailed by critics as the most accomplished and renowned mime of his generation, Bowers currently performs and teaches the art of physical storytelling throughout the world. His methods and exploration of universal truths transcend the spoken word to educate and touch audiences. A passionate student and educator, Bowers studied with the legendary Marcel Marceau and currently serves on the faculties of New York University, Stella Adler Conservatory, and William Esper Studios.
