Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off

The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off is an annual hot air balloon festival that takes place over Labor Day weekend, offering a spectacular display of colorful balloons taking flight at dawn. This family-friendly event, held in Memorial Park, attracts thousands of visitors each year to witness the vibrant lift-offs, as well as enjoy various activities, including live entertainment, food vendors, and interactive experiences. 6th Annual Quilt Showcase & Boutique

“We’re so excited to offer our annual fundraising event again, for the sixth year, in this beautiful venue. We have gained a presence over the last few years and hope those who have visited us before will come again! It’s across the street from the Commonwheel Art Festival in Memorial Park on the same weekend,” says PPQG Silent Auction Co-Chairperson, Janie Levanger. There will also be a display of this year’s PPQG quilt challenge entries, plus educational presentations about quilts in general (including vintage quilts). 52nd Annual Commonwheel Art Festival

Commonwheel is considered the premiere art festival in the Pikes Peak Region. Art patrons come to enjoy this celebration of original fine art and contemporary crafts, talented local musicians and specialty food items. For 52 years, a diverse group of potters, jewelers, painters, sculptors, photographers, glass artists, and more, have been displaying their artwork that the Commonwheel jury selects. We are excited to have visitors in Victor as plein air artists from around the country gather to paint on location in our historic town. Professional and emerging artists paint various scenes in and around the City of Victor and many nearby legendary 1890s gold mining sites. Students from the Cripple Creek-Victor School also paint for our show as part of our Young at Art Program. Our gallery is in the historic Victor Elks Lodge, 181 N. 3rd Street in Victor. Sunnyside Cemetery Tours

Guided walking tours of the Sunnyside Cemetery near Victor, sponsored by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, will be held June 6 through Sept. 19 - the first Saturdays of each month at 10 am and third Saturdays of each month at 1 pm, weather allowing. Local historians Alicia Petri Harrington and Veldean Myers will be conducting the tours, sharing histories of families who pioneered the gold rush day, telling stories of resilient women, brave men, grave robbers, and unusual characters. This event highlights the importance of the people who lived through Cripple Creek Victor Gold Rush in the history of the western United States and Colorado during the 250/150 celebration this summer. Now in its second year, this growing market has quickly become a beloved local tradition, offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and a welcoming gathering space for residents and visitors alike. The market is a program of the Royal Gorge Chamber Alliance Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, produced in collaboration with the Fremont Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) and its AgStart program, working together to support local agriculture and small business development.
