Start your morning the Colorado way at the Colorado Springs Western Street Breakfast on Wednesday, June 17, 2026! This beloved community tradition brings thousands of locals and visitors downtown for a lively celebration of the cowboy spirit and Western heritage that helped shape Colorado Springs. As part of the America 250 | Colorado 150 commemorations, the event honors the region’s rich ranching history and the frontier traditions that remain an important part of the community’s identity. Bring the whole family and soak up the festive atmosphere with live entertainment from Exit West and the Flying W Wranglers. Kids will love the hands-on activities including steer roping, a Western dress-up contest, the Kid’s Corral with a variety of activities and a petting zoo. From the smell of fresh pancakes to the sound of Western music filling the streets, it’s a true Colorado Springs experience and one of the city’s most iconic summer traditions. Dedication of the Mary Starsmore Discovery Plaza

The community is invited to join Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the opening of the Mary Starsmore Discovery Plaza at the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center. This event honors the enduring legacy of Mary Starsmore, whose dedication to environmental education and stewardship helped shape the Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center into a beloved community resource. Festivities and celebrations include a birthday cake and party for Mary Starsmore’s 124th birthday. History programs will continue throughout the day. The new Discovery Plaza provides an inviting outdoor gathering and learning space that enhances visitor experiences while supporting the center's mission. We would be honored to have you join us as we celebrate this important addition to our park system and recognize Mary Starsmore's lasting impact on our community. Experience the Park’s natural beauty and unique features by joining this expanded guided nature walk. Participants will enjoy an introduction along Gateway Trail to the Central Garden’s most remarkable sights. The walk will cover about one mile over smooth, paved trails and will typically last around 90 minutes. Upon arrival at the Central Garden, participants may continue with the guide for further exploration, or continue to explore independently. Those who prefer can also return to the Visitor Center with the guide. Weather dependent. Additional parking is available across the street in Parking Lot #1. Please give yourself time to park and walk to the Visitor and Nature Center. CC Summer Music Festival: Children's Orchestra Concert

The classic children's tale is performed by the Festival Orchestra, along with celebrated mime Bill Bowers and narrator Virginia Barron, and accompanied by Bemis student artwork. Hailed by critics as the most accomplished and renowned mime of his generation, Bowers currently performs and teaches the art of physical storytelling throughout the world. His methods and exploration of universal truths transcend the spoken word to educate and touch audiences. A passionate student and educator, Bowers studied with the legendary Marcel Marceau and currently serves on the faculties of New York University, Stella Adler Conservatory, and William Esper Studios.
