Poetry and Pottery
Presented by Poetry Heals at Soda Springs Park Manitou Springs, CO
We provide all the materials, just bring your imagination and sense of fun. Pottery teachers will show you how to use a potting wheel. You can come back the next week to pick up your pot to glaze it and take it home! Hand building is available, too. Write poems with the support of writing mentors using our prompts and other materials to got started. Write group poems with the direction of the mentors. Contribute to a community poem that will be published at the end of July. All ages and abilities are most welcome to join in. There will soup available if you are hungry. Gap the Gorge

During Gap the Gorge, guests can watch professional highline demonstrations, meet the athletes, and learn more about the sport of slacklining in one of the most dramatic settings imaginable. The event also features a hands-on slackline park where visitors can test their own balance skills, athlete meet-and-greets, poster and shirt signings, and a special Gap the Gorge Bingo Challenge with prizes and giveaways. Sunset Viewing on Pikes Peak
Presented by Pikes Peak-America's Mountain at Pikes Peak - America's Mountain Cascade, CO
Experience sunset from the summit of Pikes Peak — America’s Mountain! The Gateway to the Pikes Peak Highway will reopen at 7:00 pm, giving guests the opportunity to drive their personal vehicle to the summit or ride a shuttle to the top of Pikes Peak. Sunset is expected at 8:29 pm, offering a rare chance to take in the evening views from 14,115 feet — and see the city’s fireworks from above. Important details: Advance purchase is required for timed entry permits and sunset admission, OR shuttle tickets. Same-day admission will not be available. Availability is limited. Guests must begin descending from the summit no later than 9:10 pm.. Reserve your spot early and enjoy a one-of-a-kind evening on Pikes Peak! Please note: Fireworks will not be launched from the summit of Pikes Peak. The only fireworks launched from Pikes Peak take place on New Year’s Eve. Guests may be able to view fireworks being set off down in the city from the summit area.
