Whispers of the Herd - 5-Day Women's Retreat
Presented by Mustang Wisdom at The Copper Lodge Florissant, CO
Whispers of the Herd is designed for depth, reflection, and embodied presence. Held in the mountains near Pikes Peak, the retreat brings together small-group work with rescued mustangs, mindfulness-based experiential practices, and time on the land. Participants spend mornings in guided equine sessions exploring presence, boundaries, attention, and relational awareness through ground-based interaction with the herd. Afternoons offer space for integration through movement, sensory immersion, and creative reflection. Experiences may include guided meditation, gentle mat Pilates, a mustang-guided sensory immersion hike, mandala work, artisan studios, and time for rest or journaling. Evenings are intentionally quiet, with optional circles for reflection and integration. Participants stay in private or shared cabins at Copper Lodge, surrounded by mountain land and trails. Meals are catered from local restaurants, and retreat programming includes all equine sessions, movement practices, and creative studio materials. No horse experience is required. Activities are adaptable and participation is always optional. Group size is intentionally limited to support meaningful engagement and depth of experience. Headphone Yoga

DJ Taz Rashid and Adam Brous invite you into an immersive experience that blends yoga, live music, and conscious movement into a vibrant celebration of creativity and connection. The journey begins with a slow-flow somatic vinyasa practice guided by Adam Brous, E-RYT 500 and founder of Hineni Yoga School. Adam’s teaching emphasizes fluidity, presence, and the innate intelligence of the body. Enhancing the experience is the live music of DJ Taz Rashid, whose performances are celebrated around the world for blending electronic music, live instrumentation, and sacred sound into uplifting, high-vibrational journeys. Throughout the class, Taz performs live, weaving together electronic beats, melodic textures, and instruments such as guitar, flute, percussion, and atmospheric soundscapes. Participants will experience the entire practice through SoundOff wireless headphones, creating a deeply immersive sonic environment. Through the headphones, Taz’s live music and Adam’s voice become clear, intimate, and enveloping—allowing participants to fully drop into the rhythm of breath and movement while remaining surrounded by the quiet beauty of the mountain landscape. Fencing for Beginners

Monthly classes are available for children ages 6-14, teens and adults at Front Range Fencing Club. Students need only wear gym pants, gym shoes, and a t-shirt. Equipment use in class is provided. Note that class size is limited and usually fills early. Intermediate and advanced on-going classes and competitive lessons are offered.

Sharing the Spirit of America - Reading of the Declaration of Independence

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence inside the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) in Philadelphia. Four days later, on July 8, 1776, after the Declaration was printed and distributed, the citizens of Philadelphia were summoned to the State House Yard by the bells of the city. Then, Colonel John Nixon publicly read the Declaration of Independence. Led by America 250 Hawai'i, Americans in all 50 States and 16 Territories of the United States will read the Declaration of Independence 'together' on July 8, 2026. America spans some 9.500 miles from one extreme to the other (the Caribbean across North America to the western edge of the Pacific). The Exchange Club of Falcon is hosting a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.There are 5 parts of the Declaration of Independence and we will have five people reading the Declaration. Join in these open air, all-level practices. Each class will feature dynamic sequences of postures that build strength, flexibility, and balance. Guided by the rhythm of your breath, you will leave feeling grounded, refreshed and connected to the beauty around you. Enjoy the fresh air, natural surroundings, and a chance to move with intention in a peaceful outdoor setting. Three different yoga instructors will provide hour-long morning sessions throughout the Festival. Vanessa Nassif (Wednesdays & Thursdays) For over two decades, Vanessa has been a dedicated full-time educator, supporting individuals, training programs, and corporations through the lens of yoga and anatomy. As the former Co-Director of Education for Bhakti Barn’s teacher training, she spent eight years developing comprehensive 200 and 300-hour certification programs with a multi-disciplinary faculty. Vanessa’s commitment to healing was forged at age 20. While a student at NYU, a life-altering medical crisis shifted her path from theater to wellness. Emerging with deep wisdom and a devotion to service, she now channels that resilience into her work as an advisor and educator. After 23 years in the NYC metro, Vanessa and her husband are grateful for a new chapter in Manitou Springs. Rebecca Burdick (Fridays) A E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, Rebecca is a native of east Tennessee, but currently resides in Colorado Springs where she teaches public yoga classes and teacher training programs with Cambio Yoga, a popular and award winning donation based studio in the heart of the Springs. PPLD Summer Adventure Celebration Concert featuring Steve Weeks

Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is changing its Summer Adventure Celebrations, presented by Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, to a series of concert celebrations spread throughout the two-month reading program. This exciting new line up kicks off June 1st at Library 21c and East Library with two concerts at each location. While you are there, don’t forget to register for Summer Adventure and pick up your registration prizes! The concert celebrations kick off opening day of Summer Adventure, Mon., June 1, at East Library and Library 21c. There will be a total of four concerts that day, at 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. at both locations. The celebrations continue at 10:30 a.m. at High Prairie Library on Sat., June 13, and at 6 p.m. on Fri., July 10, at Palmer Lake Library. Both concerts mark the mid-point of the program, which encourages families – adults and children alike – to read together to avoid the summer slump of lost reading skills during the break from school. The musical fun wraps up at Fountain Library at 10:30 a.m. on Fri., July 17, and at 6 p.m. on Wed., July 29 at Manitou Springs Library.
