You-Pick Fridays

Our Friday You-Pick Flowers at our farm in Colorado Springs was created around one simple idea: spending a sunny summer morning exactly how we’d want to—surrounded by flowers and good company. Picture this: sipping coffee, strolling the fields, and cutting a beautiful bouquet to take home. It’s slow, joyful, and just about perfect. Farm Hours: The farm is open from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. With your ticket, you’re welcome to arrive anytime during those hours. General Admission — $5 Each guest entering the farm for you-pick will pay a flat $5 admission fee. Flowers are purchased separately and purchased at the farm. Your admission includes access to: The you-pick flower field Our on-site gift shop Picnic tables and seating Concessions Wander the garden and fill your cup with 20 flower stems. The biodegradable cup is yours to keep, making it easy to transport your flowers home or share them with a friend. We provide the cup, water, and snips for cutting. Bicycle Boogie

The route starts at Concrete Coyote Park for yoga and music and a pancake breakfast that benefits local non-profit, Concrete Couch. Then boogie down the trail to engage with local vendors, including massage therapists, and have some family friendly fun at the Kids Korner in North Shooks Run Park hosted by Kids on Bikes. Next we'll head to Inked and Infused for tacos and DJ set before meandering to the sound bath behind the Fine Arts Center in Monument Valley Park. Our ride will end at Buffalo Lodge Bicycle Resort for one more musical performance! Flo-Geo Heritage Day

The communities of Lake George and Florissant are rich in history and played significant roles in the development of our nation and the state of Colorado. To celebrate, they are holding Flo-Geo Heritage Day in conjunction with the state’s 250/150 Commission and everyone is invited to join the fun. Florissant Fossil Beds holds traces of life from billions of years ago, when the land was formed. The area later became home to Native Americans, primarily the Utes, who hunted and roamed this area. Then came the Spanish, the Europeans, and the Mountain Men who came to trap the Beaver. Soon miners followed and then the homesteaders; ranchers and farmers. Judge James Costello came to the area, naming it Florissant, and set up a trading post catering to the Indians, Mountain Men, miners, and settlers. During the years of the Midland Railroad, Florissant was a booming community. George Frost built a dam on the South Platte River to create the reservoir that supplied ice to Denver and surrounding mining camps. When the Midland Railroad came through, the ice was utilized by the railroad. George’s Lake was renamed Lake George and is a quaint little town that caters to tourists, campers, hunters, and fishermen. Pikes Peak Historical Society (PPHS) operates a museum that displays many remnants of the past as well as displays of gems and minerals found in the area. PPHS is also the caretaker of the Florissant Pioneer Cemetery where people from the past and present and even Civil War…
