Pro Football Camp

Current and former NFL, EFL and Pro Women football athletes from teams across the leagues—including Colorado Springs native JoJo Domann, LB and Matt Henningsen, DE Broncos —are volunteering their time and talents to help coach the 21st annual Pro Football Camp! For the past 20 years, Pro Football Camp has created an instructional, fun, and uplifting experience for kids 7 - 14 years old in the Colorado Springs area. More than 6,100 kids have learned not only football skills but also developed character traits off-the-field from listening to NFL athletes coaching at the Pro Football Camp, who share their stories of perseverance, respect, and overcoming adversity in their lives. You don't need to have any artistic experience to enjoy this creative adventure at Garden of the Gods! Our talented docent will guide you through capturing different perspectives of the park using either cyanotype paper or shadow tracing techniques. All materials will be provided. Depending on the weather, this program may move outdoors so please dress for the weather. Appropriate for ages 8+, with an adult. Bird Banding Demonstration

Join Dr. Claire Ramos and her students from Colorado State University Pueblo as we learn about the birds of the Garden of the Gods. During this bird banding demonstration, you will learn how her team safely catches birds and collects scientific information, while getting to observe the birds up close. Recommended ages 8+. Advanced registration required. Each demonstration will last 45 minutes - 1 hour. No previous experience is necessary for this observational event. This program is weather-dependent and will be cancelled in the event of poor weather for the safety of the birds. Eco-locators will be provided to hear bat calls as we watch them hunt and navigate the night sky. Meet at the admission hut for Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site. Junior Ranger Walk

Jr. Ranger booklet and awards included! Join Park Interpreter and Jr. Ranger co-author Jennifer Heiny for this family-friendly walk! After a brief introduction inside, families will leisurely walk out into the Park from the Visitor and Nature Center. This informal walk will be loosely focused on the Junior Ranger booklet and can cover anything we are seeing. Sunscreen, sturdy shoes and water recommended! If there is inclement weather, the focus will shift to just indoors with touch tables and museum challenges. Meet in the Red Rocks Room on the second floor.
