Mother's Day Tea and Tour

The Tea and Tour make for a special Mother's Day holiday. Get your tickets soon, this event usually sells out well ahead of time. The McAllister House Museum hosts an afternoon cream tea in the carriage house and then guests are invited to tour the historic McAllister House. The tea includes scones, finger sandwiches, and dessert. The tea and tour last approximately 2 hours. The McAllister House Museum will celebrate the America 250/ Colorado 150 anniversary by exhibiting items in our collection that take us back to 1876 where we can experience statehood through the eyes of the McAllister family. Run to the Shrine

This 4-mile casual run/walk winds through the Zoo and up to Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, with leopards, lions and elephants along the way. Enjoy stunning views of Colorado Springs below while ascending nearly 1,000 feet in elevation, before descending back down into the Zoo. Run to the Shrine is the ONLY time foot traffic is allowed on Shrine Road. Participants will start the ascent at their leisure, and there will be no official timing services. The race is a great route for competitive athletes, weekend warriors, casual walkers and families of all ages.
