2026 Paddling Film Festival

Event Details: Join UpaDowna & Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates for the Paddling Film Festival on the lawn at Medicine Wheel! Before the screening, enjoy a beverage, hit up the food truck & do some shopping! There will be local vendors, other nonprofits, yard games & prize giveaways. All ages are welcome. Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is changing its Summer Adventure Celebrations, presented by Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, to a series of concert celebrations spread throughout the two-month reading program. This exciting new line up kicks off June 1st at Library 21c and East Library with two concerts at each location. While you are there, don’t forget to register for Summer Adventure and pick up your registration prizes! The concert celebrations kick off opening day of Summer Adventure, Mon., June 1, at East Library and Library 21c. There will be a total of four concerts that day, at 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. at both locations. The celebrations continue at 10:30 a.m. at High Prairie Library on Sat., June 13, and at 6 p.m. on Fri., July 10, at Palmer Lake Library. Both concerts mark the mid-point of the program, which encourages families – adults and children alike – to read together to avoid the summer slump of lost reading skills during the break from school. The musical fun wraps up at Fountain Library at 10:30 a.m. on Fri., July 17, and at 6 p.m. on Wed., July 29 at Manitou Springs Library. Arts Education Symposium: 'United by Creativity'

Arts educators, if you’re needing inspiration, resources, and connection, this is where you belong! The Cultural Office and community partners invite you to the inaugural Arts Education Symposium: United by Creativity, a focused day of collaboration and professional growth at the beautiful Penrose House. Come together in this unique and serene location and find a renewed sense of purpose. This interactive, full day experience recognizes the essential role of arts education, strengthens connections between schools and local resources, and supports a more unified and creative arts education community in the Pikes Peak region! All participants will attend every session below throughout the day. Sessions include: Advocating for and Sustaining your arts Program: Create sustainable arts programs through advocacy featuring a panel of arts education leaders, school administrators and seasoned arts teachers. Developing Community Partnerships: Discover the path to generating relationships with local arts organization partners through a panel discussion and 10 arts organizations tabling. Teacher Wellness: Join the Mindfulness and Positivity Project in renewing your own artistry and wellness through a calm workshop designed for reflection and growth. Trade Secrets - Skill and Lesson Swap: Generate artform-specific ideas for your classroom. Speak to seasoned teachers to understand what a strong lesson looks like then share and get lesson ideas and activities.
