Gap the Gorge

During Gap the Gorge, guests can watch professional highline demonstrations, meet the athletes, and learn more about the sport of slacklining in one of the most dramatic settings imaginable. The event also features a hands-on slackline park where visitors can test their own balance skills, athlete meet-and-greets, poster and shirt signings, and a special Gap the Gorge Bingo Challenge with prizes and giveaways. 'Under the Colorado Moon'

Last seen on the Butte stage in 2021, “Under the Colorado Moon” tells the story of gentleman Brett Armstrong. In financial distress after a lost wager and falsely accused of forgery, Brett must fake his own death and flee for a new life in the rough and tumble mountain town of Cripple Creek, CO. He assumes a new identity and joins a team of hard rock miners who toil under the thumb of Roy Shatterly, a man as cruel as he is rich. All is well until Armstrong falls for a beautiful and spirited mule skinner who has also caught Shatterly’s eye. Now, Armstrong must either deny his love or risk his freedom...and quite possibly his life! Meadow Nature Walk
Presented by Cheyenne Mountain State Park at Cheyenne Mountain State Park Colorado Springs, CO
The meadow nature walk is a relatively short guided nature walk through some of our park’s pristine natural environments. Learn about the ecology of meadows and open spaces with park naturalist Sam Owens. The walk takes place in Cheyenne Mountain State Park, starting at the Prairie Falcon Amphitheater parking at 10:00 am at select dates in July. Reservations are available on CPW connect, but walk-ins are allowed. No fee is needed for the walk, but the entry fee to the park is still required. Walk will commence rain or shine, so participants are advised to come prepared for weather and trail conditions. Appropriate footwear and clothing is needed, as the trail is not paved. Audience: All are welcome, however, please keep in mind individual skill level and challenge of an hour long moderate hike. Dogs not permitted Fee: Park entry fee required Time duration: 1-2 hours maximum, although under an hour is possible based on walk dynamics. Whispers of the Herd - 5-Day Women's Retreat

Whispers of the Herd is designed for depth, reflection, and embodied presence. Held in the mountains near Pikes Peak, the retreat brings together small-group work with rescued mustangs, mindfulness-based experiential practices, and time on the land. Participants spend mornings in guided equine sessions exploring presence, boundaries, attention, and relational awareness through ground-based interaction with the herd. Afternoons offer space for integration through movement, sensory immersion, and creative reflection. Experiences may include guided meditation, gentle mat Pilates, a mustang-guided sensory immersion hike, mandala work, artisan studios, and time for rest or journaling. Evenings are intentionally quiet, with optional circles for reflection and integration. Participants stay in private or shared cabins at Copper Lodge, surrounded by mountain land and trails. Meals are catered from local restaurants, and retreat programming includes all equine sessions, movement practices, and creative studio materials. No horse experience is required. You don't need to have any artistic experience to enjoy this creative adventure at Garden of the Gods! Our talented docent will guide you through capturing different perspectives of the park using either cyanotype paper or shadow tracing techniques. All materials will be provided.
