They traveled north around Sierra del Almagre (Pikes Peak), down the Ute Pass, and attacked the Comanche base camp on August 31, 1779, near present-day Colorado Springs, Colorado. John Wesley Anderson, MBA, is a published author, storyteller and TEDx speaker. He is retired from a 30-year law enforcement career, including 22 years with the Colorado Springs Police Department and eight years serving as the elected Sheriff for El Paso County, Colorado. After being term-limited as Sheriff John worked for Lockheed Martin for ten years.
