PPLD Summer Adventure Celebration Concert featuring Steve Weeks

Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is changing its Summer Adventure Celebrations, presented by Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, to a series of concert celebrations spread throughout the two-month reading program. This exciting new line up kicks off June 1st at Library 21c and East Library with two concerts at each location. While you are there, don’t forget to register for Summer Adventure and pick up your registration prizes! The concert celebrations kick off opening day of Summer Adventure, Mon., June 1, at East Library and Library 21c. There will be a total of four concerts that day, at 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. at both locations. The celebrations continue at 10:30 a.m. at High Prairie Library on Sat., June 13, and at 6 p.m. on Fri., July 10, at Palmer Lake Library. Both concerts mark the mid-point of the program, which encourages families – adults and children alike – to read together to avoid the summer slump of lost reading skills during the break from school. The musical fun wraps up at Fountain Library at 10:30 a.m. on Fri., July 17, and at 6 p.m. on Wed., July 29 at Manitou Springs Library. Jazz in the Garden Presents Henrique de Almeida & The Truth Project Band

Professor De Almeida holds a degree in music performance and jazz composition from the University of Southern Mississippi and the Berklee College of Music. He is the leader of three jazz groups, including The Truth Project Band, presenting his truth in music. An accomplished author and published clinician, in 2017 Henrique became the music director and president of the online school TheDrumSetCoach.com. He has performed several times at Carnegie Hall and writes articles for Modern Drummer Magazine. The Jazz in the Garden 2026 season begins on May 29 at 7pm in the garden at the corner of N. Tejon and Monument Streets., just blocks north of downtown, and continues on alternate Fridays through August 21. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs and blankets, and get ready to spend your evening with the best music to be found in the city–new, old, tried and true you don't want to miss a single one! We'll provide beverages (for donation) and music that will get your toes tapping and fingers snapping. Picnics welcome. Blankets and lawn chairs encouraged. Beverages available. Oklahoma City Ballet

Founded in 1972, Oklahoma City Ballet is the city’s professional ballet company and a leading cultural institution in the region. As the resident dance company of the Civic Center Music Hall, Oklahoma City Ballet presents four main-stage productions each season in Oklahoma City, while also touring throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states to bring the power of live dance to broader audiences. Originally established as the Oklahoma City Civic Ballet, the Company was founded under the artistic direction of Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo artists Yvonne Chouteau and Miguel Terekhov. Designed to give both shoppers and vendors more room, more convenience, and more opportunity, Off-Main expands the Junktique experience beyond Main Street while keeping the same spirit of discovery that people love. This new location creates space for growth and flexibility, with room for vendors who want to participate monthly and room for customers to enjoy an easy, comfortable shopping experience. Visitors can expect: A monthly market experience. Easy access just off downtown Florence. Free parking (off street, in the front of the property.) $2 parking (off-street, next to the event gate). VIP ($5) (on concrete, inside the event gates.) Free handicapped parking (must have license plate or hanging tag, on concrete, inside the event gates.) For vendors, Junktique Off-Main offers flexible ways to be part of the event, including full-time vendor spaces and per-event rentals. Full-time vendor spaces are an especially attractive option for sellers who want to simplify setup and reduce the constant work of moving inventory. Ivywild Garden Art Toure 2026

Ivywild Garden Art Toure 2026 - IGATE Again! Come stroll through the Ivywild neighborhood for the fifth IGATE (Ivywild Garden Art Toure). Visit a half dozen quirky artistic gardens tucked behind and around historic homes throughout this southwest Colorado Springs neighborhood. See original works hung on fences, carved into trees, sprinkled among colorfully blooming garden beds, and sitting in ponds as you explore each artistic gardener's unique vision. Commune with urban bee hives, koi and en plein air artists. Start at the Millibo Art Theatre, 1626 South Tejon St., to get a wristband and map to the gardens. While you’re there, enjoy the theatre garden and mini garden art mart. All proceeds will support public art projects in the neighborhood facilitated by the Ivywild Improvement Society. Street parking is available at the gardens, but many people enjoy parking at the Millibo and walking the Toure (or cycling.)
