Poetry and Pottery
Presented by Poetry Heals at Soda Springs Park Manitou Springs, CO
We provide all the materials, just bring your imagination and sense of fun. Pottery teachers will show you how to use a potting wheel. You can come back the next week to pick up your pot to glaze it and take it home! Hand building is available, too. Write poems with the support of writing mentors using our prompts and other materials to got started. Write group poems with the direction of the mentors. Contribute to a community poem that will be published at the end of July. All ages and abilities are most welcome to join in. There will soup available if you are hungry. Wednesday Morning Guided Walks in the Garden of the Gods
Presented by City of Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services at Garden of the Gods Visitor and Nature Center Colorado Springs, CO
Experience the Park’s natural beauty and unique features by joining this expanded guided nature walk. Participants will enjoy an introduction along Gateway Trail to the Central Garden’s most remarkable sights. The walk will cover about one mile over smooth, paved trails and will typically last around 90 minutes. Upon arrival at the Central Garden, participants may continue with the guide for further exploration, or continue to explore independently. Those who prefer can also return to the Visitor Center with the guide. Weather dependent. Additional parking is available across the street in Parking Lot #1. Please give yourself time to park and walk to the Visitor and Nature Center.
