Fencing for Beginners
Presented by Front Range Fencing Club at Chinook Elementary School Gym Colorado Springs, CO
Monthly classes are available for children ages 6-14, teens and adults at Front Range Fencing Club. Students need only wear gym pants, gym shoes, and a t-shirt. Equipment use in class is provided. Note that class size is limited and usually fills early. Intermediate and advanced on-going classes and competitive lessons are offered.

Sharing the Spirit of America - Reading of the Declaration of Independence

On July 4, 1776, the Second Continental Congress approved the Declaration of Independence inside the Pennsylvania State House (now Independence Hall) in Philadelphia. Four days later, on July 8, 1776, after the Declaration was printed and distributed, the citizens of Philadelphia were summoned to the State House Yard by the bells of the city. Then, Colonel John Nixon publicly read the Declaration of Independence. Led by America 250 Hawai'i, Americans in all 50 States and 16 Territories of the United States will read the Declaration of Independence 'together' on July 8, 2026. America spans some 9.500 miles from one extreme to the other (the Caribbean across North America to the western edge of the Pacific). The Exchange Club of Falcon is hosting a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.There are 5 parts of the Declaration of Independence and we will have five people reading the Declaration. America at 250 - The Declaration of Independence, Then and Now

Join in these open air, all-level practices. Each class will feature dynamic sequences of postures that build strength, flexibility, and balance. Guided by the rhythm of your breath, you will leave feeling grounded, refreshed and connected to the beauty around you. Enjoy the fresh air, natural surroundings, and a chance to move with intention in a peaceful outdoor setting. Three different yoga instructors will provide hour-long morning sessions throughout the Festival. Vanessa Nassif (Wednesdays & Thursdays) For over two decades, Vanessa has been a dedicated full-time educator, supporting individuals, training programs, and corporations through the lens of yoga and anatomy. As the former Co-Director of Education for Bhakti Barn’s teacher training, she spent eight years developing comprehensive 200 and 300-hour certification programs with a multi-disciplinary faculty. Vanessa’s commitment to healing was forged at age 20. While a student at NYU, a life-altering medical crisis shifted her path from theater to wellness. Emerging with deep wisdom and a devotion to service, she now channels that resilience into her work as an advisor and educator. After 23 years in the NYC metro, Vanessa and her husband are grateful for a new chapter in Manitou Springs. Rebecca Burdick (Fridays) A E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, Rebecca is a native of east Tennessee, but currently resides in Colorado Springs where she teaches public yoga classes and teacher training programs with Cambio Yoga, a popular and award winning donation based studio in the heart of the Springs. PPLD Summer Adventure Celebration Concert featuring Steve Weeks

Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) is changing its Summer Adventure Celebrations, presented by Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District, to a series of concert celebrations spread throughout the two-month reading program. This exciting new line up kicks off June 1st at Library 21c and East Library with two concerts at each location. While you are there, don’t forget to register for Summer Adventure and pick up your registration prizes! The concert celebrations kick off opening day of Summer Adventure, Mon., June 1, at East Library and Library 21c. There will be a total of four concerts that day, at 2 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. at both locations. The celebrations continue at 10:30 a.m. at High Prairie Library on Sat., June 13, and at 6 p.m. on Fri., July 10, at Palmer Lake Library. Both concerts mark the mid-point of the program, which encourages families – adults and children alike – to read together to avoid the summer slump of lost reading skills during the break from school. The musical fun wraps up at Fountain Library at 10:30 a.m. on Fri., July 17, and at 6 p.m. on Wed., July 29 at Manitou Springs Library. Jazz in the Garden Presents Henrique de Almeida & The Truth Project Band

Professor De Almeida holds a degree in music performance and jazz composition from the University of Southern Mississippi and the Berklee College of Music. He is the leader of three jazz groups, including The Truth Project Band, presenting his truth in music. An accomplished author and published clinician, in 2017 Henrique became the music director and president of the online school TheDrumSetCoach.com. He has performed several times at Carnegie Hall and writes articles for Modern Drummer Magazine. The Jazz in the Garden 2026 season begins on May 29 at 7pm in the garden at the corner of N. Tejon and Monument Streets., just blocks north of downtown, and continues on alternate Fridays through August 21. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs and blankets, and get ready to spend your evening with the best music to be found in the city–new, old, tried and true you don't want to miss a single one! We'll provide beverages (for donation) and music that will get your toes tapping and fingers snapping. Picnics welcome. Blankets and lawn chairs encouraged. Beverages available. Oklahoma City Ballet

Founded in 1972, Oklahoma City Ballet is the city’s professional ballet company and a leading cultural institution in the region. As the resident dance company of the Civic Center Music Hall, Oklahoma City Ballet presents four main-stage productions each season in Oklahoma City, while also touring throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states to bring the power of live dance to broader audiences.
