Sunset Viewing on Pikes Peak

Experience sunset from the summit of Pikes Peak — America’s Mountain! The Gateway to the Pikes Peak Highway will reopen at 7:00 pm, giving guests the opportunity to drive their personal vehicle to the summit or ride a shuttle to the top of Pikes Peak. Sunset is expected at 8:29 pm, offering a rare chance to take in the evening views from 14,115 feet — and see the city’s fireworks from above. Important details: Advance purchase is required for timed entry permits and sunset admission, OR shuttle tickets. Same-day admission will not be available. Availability is limited. Guests must begin descending from the summit no later than 9:10 pm.. Reserve your spot early and enjoy a one-of-a-kind evening on Pikes Peak! Please note: Fireworks will not be launched from the summit of Pikes Peak. The only fireworks launched from Pikes Peak take place on New Year’s Eve. Guests may be able to view fireworks being set off down in the city from the summit area. 4th of July Celebration

Sunnyside Cemetery Tours

Guided walking tours of the Sunnyside Cemetery near Victor, sponsored by the Victor Lowell Thomas Museum, will be held June 6 through Sept. 19 - the first Saturdays of each month at 10 am and third Saturdays of each month at 1 pm, weather allowing. Local historians Alicia Petri Harrington and Veldean Myers will be conducting the tours, sharing histories of families who pioneered the gold rush day, telling stories of resilient women, brave men, grave robbers, and unusual characters. This event highlights the importance of the people who lived through Cripple Creek Victor Gold Rush in the history of the western United States and Colorado during the 250/150 celebration this summer. Now in its second year, this growing market has quickly become a beloved local tradition, offering fresh produce, handmade goods, and a welcoming gathering space for residents and visitors alike. The market is a program of the Royal Gorge Chamber Alliance Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, produced in collaboration with the Fremont Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) and its AgStart program, working together to support local agriculture and small business development. As a “rooted in community” initiative, the market is dedicated to strengthening connections between growers and consumers while fostering a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Pikes Peak Sunrise Opening

Advance purchase is required. Each vehicle must have a timed-entry permit and Sunrise admission ticket purchased online before arrival. Tickets will not be sold at the Gateway, and access to the North Slope Recreation Area will not be available during event hours. Prefer to leave the driving to us? Shuttle tickets are available! Shuttles depart from the North Pole parking lot, located 0.3 miles before the Pikes Peak entrance, and travel directly to the summit. The Pikes Peak Gateway will open early for special sunrise events, so please take note of your arrival time when purchasing tickets. Before you go, please prepare for the mountain drive and summit conditions: • Avoid using air conditioning on the way up. • Know how to downshift and use engine braking on the way down. • Drink plenty of water before and during your visit. • Bring warm layers. The summit is usually about 30 degrees colder than in town and can be especially cold before sunrise. The Summit Visitor Center café and gift shop will be open for food and souvenirs. Don’t miss this extraordinary chance to welcome the day from the top of America’s Mountain. All access is weather permitting. Whispers of the Herd - 5-Day Women's Retreat

Whispers of the Herd is designed for depth, reflection, and embodied presence. Held in the mountains near Pikes Peak, the retreat brings together small-group work with rescued mustangs, mindfulness-based experiential practices, and time on the land. Participants spend mornings in guided equine sessions exploring presence, boundaries, attention, and relational awareness through ground-based interaction with the herd. Afternoons offer space for integration through movement, sensory immersion, and creative reflection. Experiences may include guided meditation, gentle mat Pilates, a mustang-guided sensory immersion hike, mandala work, artisan studios, and time for rest or journaling. Evenings are intentionally quiet, with optional circles for reflection and integration. Participants stay in private or shared cabins at Copper Lodge, surrounded by mountain land and trails. Headphone Yoga

DJ Taz Rashid and Adam Brous invite you into an immersive experience that blends yoga, live music, and conscious movement into a vibrant celebration of creativity and connection. The journey begins with a slow-flow somatic vinyasa practice guided by Adam Brous, E-RYT 500 and founder of Hineni Yoga School. Adam’s teaching emphasizes fluidity, presence, and the innate intelligence of the body. Enhancing the experience is the live music of DJ Taz Rashid, whose performances are celebrated around the world for blending electronic music, live instrumentation, and sacred sound into uplifting, high-vibrational journeys. Throughout the class, Taz performs live, weaving together electronic beats, melodic textures, and instruments such as guitar, flute, percussion, and atmospheric soundscapes. Participants will experience the entire practice through SoundOff wireless headphones, creating a deeply immersive sonic environment. Fencing for Beginners

Monthly classes are available for children ages 6-14, teens and adults at Front Range Fencing Club. Students need only wear gym pants, gym shoes, and a t-shirt. Equipment use in class is provided. Note that class size is limited and usually fills early. Intermediate and advanced on-going classes and competitive lessons are offered.
