If you’re looking for a place to stay in Southern Colorado that is outside of the busy zone but somehow in the midst of everything, the Outlook Lodge is your new favorite accommodation. Located in picturesque Green Mountain Falls — home of the exceptional annual Green Box Arts Festival — the Outlook Lodge is a hidden gem you should definitely consider for your next visit to the Centennial State. Take a close look at all it has to offer!
Green Mountain Falls is a small town situated off of Highway 24 between historic Manitou Springs and Woodland Park and Outlook Lodge sits right in the heart of it. We really cannot stress enough just how convenient it is, so we’ll just let the numbers speak for themselves.
You get all of the forests, quiet and natural beauty of a mountain town, but with the convenience of a centralized location. All of the best attractions in the region are also close at hand.
Colorado is a popular state and a leading vacation destination for visitors worldwide — that’s why you’re here. But, sometimes, you just want to rest for a while far away from the crowds. It’s nice to take a break and find yourself a little peace and quiet with only the mountains for company. That’s where Outlook Lodge truly shines. The natural beauty of the Pike National Forest envelopes the town of Green Mountain Falls with sweeping pines, scenic waterways and frequent visits from local wildlife. Rooms are cozy with hardwood floors, comfortable furniture and a rustic vibe that should always accompany any location with “lodge” in the name. It’s perfect for any season, whether you’re in Colorado for leaf peeking in the fall, escaping the winter grind for mountain solitude, hunting for spring wildflowers or relaxing between hikes in the summer.
The Outlook Lodge offers standard and deluxe rooms, as well as a deluxe suite and a family suite. The family suite has three rooms and bunkbeds so you can fit the whole crew comfortably. All rooms offer amenities like modern charging ports, flatscreen televisions and free wifi on property. There’s a hot tub next door at the Little Beaver Inn, a fire pit for evening chats and a full kitchen so you can prep a picnic for that mountain hike. Speaking of Little Beaver Inn, let’s take a quick look — it just so happens to be the sister property of Outlook Lodge!
Like its parent property, The Outlook Lodge, the Little Beaver Inn gives guests a purposefully private experience. Located across Hondo Avenue from Outlook, it offers the same proximity to all the best Colorado has to offer with the escape you need after a long day exploring the Rocky Mountains. Rooms at Little Beaver are decorated with a modern vibe blended with rustic notes and offer options for mountain views, as well as ADA accommodations. Don’t forget that Little Beaver shares amenities with Outlook — that fire pit is for you, too!
Perhaps one of the best features of staying in either Little Beaver or Outlook Lodge is the short distance to nearby hiking trails. How close? It’s barely a mile’s walk (1.5 km) to the Catamount Trailhead. It’s an even shorter walk to the Crystal Falls Trailhead. Both lead to waterfalls! If you’re a strong hiker experienced in exercising at high altitude, you can even hike all the way up to Catamount Reservoir on the slope of Pikes Peak. Just strolling around town is also a great way to spend your time. Be sure to snap a few photos in the picturesque gazebo!
