Known for:

Delicious teas, freshly baked scones and immersive Victorian decor all tucked into the hillside in historic Manitou Springs. Oh, and it's in a castle, too!

Local's tip:

If you see an event at the Queen's Parlour, be sure to call 719.685.1011 and book it right away. Even a day can make a difference! The tearoom is small and events fill up almost immediately once they are shared. Be sure to follow them on social media so you're the first to know when a new event is announced.

High Tea in Manitou Springs’ Famous Castle

Live like royalty, if only for a little while, when you book tea service at the Queen’s Parlour Tearoom in Miramont Castle. Located near the Manitou Incline and the depot for the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the Queen’s Parlour is a gorgeous tea room offering up twice-daily service. If you want something special for your next meal while you’re out and about in the Pikes Peak region, this is as special as it gets!

Sip Tea in Victorian Splendor

The Queen’s Parlour is certainly fit for a castle, with lovely Victorian decor that really sets the mood from the moment you step through the door. The lace-topped tables, lush draperies and heritage color scheme all work together to make you feel like you just might be waiting for an audience with Her Majesty. The tea sets are beautiful and delicate and the towers that serve up high tea are certainly impressive. The Queen’s Parlour Tearoom even offers guests fancy hats so they can look the part as they sip tea.

Dining at the Queen’s Parlour

While the Parlour exclusively serves tea-centered fare, you are guaranteed to be full when you leave. Those seemingly tiny tea sandwiches are actually quite filling after you’ve had an oh-so-soft scone with three different toppings. And you’ll want to save room for exquisite little desserts like petit fours and tarts. If you’re hungry, opt in for the high tea. It includes fresh fruit and soup as part of the meal. The Princess Tea is designed for children 12 and under and offers a smaller version of the high tea at a reduced price.

The menu changes daily — both for desserts and savories. Sandwiches could include cucumber, salmon, ham and more, all freshly prepared with good ingredients in-house. The tea room often prepares courses that reflect the season, too. Think pumpkin or apple flavors in the fall and fresh, bright fruit flavors over spring and summer.

Please remember that reservations are required. Food is prepared fresh based on the number of reservations for the day. While they may be able to accommodate the occasional walk-in, it is not guaranteed and may incur a $5 fee.

Teas You’ll Love

The tea selection at the Queen’s Parlour Tearoom is also fantastic. Red Rocks Rooibos is a particularly delightful tea, as is the Parlour’s Lady Lavender. You get one type with the light Victorian tea and two with the high tea. All teas provide unlimited hot water. You can squeeze every last drop of flavor from those leaves if you like! If you are not able to try all of the teas you like, you can always console yourself with an assortment of teas in the Miramont Castle gift shop. Located up behind the tearoom, the gift shop sells all of the same teas served in the shop, plus pots, cups, tea bags and tea-making tools.

Dietary Restrictions at the Queen’s Parlour

The Queen’s Parlour does its best to accommodate dietary restrictions whenever possible. However, the kitchen is too small to guarantee no cross contamination will occur. They ask that you disclose allergies at the time of booking, as the staff prepares food fresh in small batches before each tea. Guests will incur a $14 service fee to cover the cost of any specialty ingredients or preparation. They also ask that guests who require allergy accommodations sign a waiver. The waiver acknowledges that the tearoom is not a certified allergy-free kitchen.

Events at the Queen’s Parlour

Events at the Queen’s Parlour Tearoom are always extra special — which is why they sell out so quickly. In fact, let’s start with a tip: If you see it, book it. Some of their most-loved events include the Victorian Christmas Tea and Mother’s Day Tea. Guests also enjoy their Valentine’s Day and Halloween celebrations. Follow the Miramont Castle on Facebook to be the first to know when these themed events are happening.

The tea room also hosts other events like cocktail and trivia nights or Father’s Day in the Garden, where they supply hungry dads with heavy hors d’oeuvres at they mingle with drinks and cigars. Place reservations by calling the tearoom at 719.685.1011. The Queen’s Parlour includes tax and gratuity in your payment for the event, which is always really helpful!
